A repeat of the past?

I found a lump on my breast again.

The doc thinks it’s a fibroadenoma or a breast mouse in layman’s terms.

We don’t think it’s cancerous given my past history but we’re still going to monitor it for the time being. Unless if necessary, i’ll probably just leave it alone because my breasts ain’t big to begin with.

That’s if you know what i mean.

Time

Filed under: Life at its fullest, Personal — Sunshin3 @ 1:05 pm

The thing about time is that we never have enough of it.

My friends and family members have been very understanding to the demands of my work and the current project that i am overseeing. No longer do they call to remind me to come home nor do they whine about how little time i am spending with them.

Because they know it’ll probably fall on deaf ears anyway.

Time with Old boy is minimal too and very much reduced to quick phone calls or meal meet ups. His job demands and expectations are very much harder and higher to scale and to make matters slightly complicated, he isn’t having the support and guidance he requires.

It is a recipe for temperamental flare ups which occurs some what common and daily but i am glad we don’t behave like kids whenever we irritate each other.

I need that maturity in any relationship of mine.

I do whatever i can to help him because i don’t like seeing him depressed and demoralised. No woman likes to see her significant other in the pits. From checking his office and personal emails to cleaning up his resume and keeping him sated, i guess you could say i’ve covered all bases as a personal assistant to him.

He should count himself lucky that i’m not asking for anything in return. :P
As Keith and Jules celebrate their six months anniversary together, i reminisce how time has given me a chance to know him deeper and the best part of it all was to regain his trust again.

For without trust, no relationship can withstand obstacles.

And pigs can fly

I had a weird dream the other night.

I dreamt that Old boy roused me up from my deep slumber and asked me if I wanted to have kids.

Don’t ask me what proceeded thereafter because I absolutely cannot recall.

Drats

It is a terrible day today and it started with a meeting at 9.30 in the morning.

Thereafter, i had to contend with mismatched expectations and a migraine before rounding it off with another meeting around 5 in the evening to dispute over a proposal.

All these are mentally draining and i’ve yet to count the emails in my inbox as well.

I am angry and i have a choice whether i want to battle it out over wines since it’s a colleague’s birthday or do i want to sulk at home.

Of course, i’m choosing the latter because i’m really upset and by staying at home, i won’t hurt anyone by my sarcasm.

And it’s stupid to get drunk because i definitely won’t learn my lesson since i don’t get hangovers the next day.

Blame it on the Dad’s drinking genes and lack of affection.

I’m on du lan mode today.

Familiarity breeds contempt

Old boy and I went to a coffeeshop that was screening the soccer match between Chelsea and Man U last night for dinner.

As usual, the crowd was typically male with their beers who sat with their eyes glued to the plasma screen even before the game started. The familiar voices of various predictions rang in the air and all of a sudden, Old boy went, “Can i change seats, please?”

In the duration that i have known Old boy, i never knew he was a soccer fan and it got me surprised when he wanted to change seats to get a better view of the plasma screen.

Since we were in the moment, i casually told him that Chelsea will win, half expecting a “No, Man U will win!” from him or some form of technical agreement with me but imagine my shock when he said, “NO, I WANT LIVERPOOL TO WIN!”

The poor boy was dead beat from work and at half past 9 in the evening, i wasn’t going to embarrass him by reminding him that this was a match between Chelsea and Man U for the FA Cup.

Like what Shelly says so often, “Love makes you blind to mistakes and deaf to advices.”

I suppose so, babe, i suppose so.
;)
P.s. And Chelsea did win that FA Cup. :P

Mergers & Acquisitions

Mergers and Acquisitions are very much the norm these days and i suppose, generally beneficial for some businesses.

One of my clients has just been bought over by Microsoft for US$6 billion in an all-cash transaction as reported in the papers today. But we aren’t exactly affected by the acquisition as they will still continue with their business operations as like in the past.

Personally, I don’t forsee much changes except to the board of Directors and their business focus.

I still hate Microsoft by the way, especially after they got fined by the EU (was it the EU?) for monopolising their software on PCs.

I am not a techie by nature but i really don’t like the fact that Microsoft products are priced so expensively and it is not as if all their products are worth that amount.

Like if it wasn’t for the WSP2, i wouldn’t have found out that Firefox was more user-friendly than IE or if it wasn’t for my laptop crash, i wouldn’t have found out that OpenOffice was cooler than Microsoft Office.

As a consumer and a chinese at that too, price affordability tops my list of purchase factors.

Why i say chinese?

Not to sound rude but i came to know that chinese firms generally pick price over services or reliability after i lost a listed client to cheapo pricing.

Yeah, it’s one of those business lessons that are a little painful to learn but never mind.
