A proverbial story

I give up.

The spare battery costs $87 and since i don’t have a choice of getting a new line or upgrading my handset under my mobile plan, i will just have to follow the crowd and buy a spare battery.

But that’s not the purpose for this entry.

I want to share a story i read online as the protagonist is someone i can relate to very much.

We’ve always heard that life is about making choices and being an adult means taking responsibility for the choices we believe in but some choices are simply really hard to make.

Between a hard place and a rock

Her head against his shoulders, her warm hands encasing him, her breathing pattern regular.

That was his woman, sound asleep in his arms after a round of intimacy. The joke that always got them was how she seemed to be the older one in the relationship in terms of stamina.

She brought a semblance of youthfulness and life back into his otherwise, routinely mundane lifestyle.

And he smiled whenever he thought of her. Yet his heart bled because of her.

“What do you want out of me?”

The question that he asked her earlier on never escaped the confines of his mind.

A man his age had possibly tried everything and had everything including chronic fatigue and backaches from chasing the American dream. He had nothing to offer to her; not even cash nor a commitment.

But she loved him and that was what was important to her.

She held her own thoughts to the question that he raised and she would have loved to speak the truth if she knew in the first place what she wanted.

Truth was she was equally confused and afraid of fighting for what she wanted.”
