A step closer

Floor Planner - Eunos Crescent

I have this strange adversion for floor plans that i think i must be an architect in my previous life. In fact, one of my hobbies is actually, hanging out at new launches and show flats to get glimpses of their floor plans.

No one really knows of this hobby of mine, not even Old boy.

Of course, viewing of floor plans is one thing; constructing them is another. Now that the tenancy agreement has been executed, the headache of getting quotations for the minor works that i was intending to do, was next.

Thank goodness there was floorplanner.com.

Nothing says it best with pictures and it bridges the gap between the designers and myself. Despite the fact that it is a rented flat, it is exciting and as close as i can get to owning my “home”.

Temptation of Liberty

gta4trailer

The reviews for GTA 4 have been hard to ignore, especially after hearing a friend talk about his alter ego in the game. The ability to be rash, to hunt down and gun down carelessly, to speed around recklessly and be the rebel without a cause.

Who wouldn’t want to step into another person’s shoes for one night?

I do believe we all have a kid in us.

Not the childish part of playing with dolls or playgrounds but the desire to be young because you know you’ll be forgiven for most of your mistakes.

Yet, there’s always a thin line between reality and fantasy. And i know for one, that i do have problems with self-control.

Damn the heatwave

heatwave

It is one of those rare occasions that i have time to do anything but the damn heatwave makes everything irritable to me.

Guess i’ll just stay home and practise my drumming.

Shirlyn & the Unexpected @ Wala

Last Thursday was our die-hard Bachelor’s birthday and both of us thought that his free champagne voucher was going to be a housepour brand.

Imagine, to our delight, that it turned out to be a MOET.

And a bloody good one in fact.

Happy birthday bro!

Dinner @ Botak Jones

Filed under: Life at its fullest, Personal, Reviews — Sunshin3 @ 3:34 am

botakburger

Honestly, i was somewhat disappointed.

Having read rave reviews of the food at Botak Jones, SK, Daniel and i headed down to their outlet at Bedok to sample the fare.

SK ordered the chilli dogs while Daniel tried the fish burger. I took the botak burger since the menu suggested it.

Wrong move.

The patties turned out dry and salty. If there was any consolation at all, the buns were tasty but no matter how tasty it was, it couldn’t mask the fact that the meat wasn’t well-marinated.

Daniel and SK had it better although i’m glad they helped me finish off my burger otherwise, it would have been a wasted S$11 double patty burger.

I won’t write them off just yet but they really need to either change the cook or the recipe.

Or the menu because it was sorely misrepresented to me.

Why it feels like Monday all over again

Filed under: Life at its fullest — Sunshin3 @ 3:33 pm

Imagine being whacked in your sleep by your boyfriend, not once but four times to your detriment.

Heck, i even have a lovely bruise to show it.

The cause of it?

A bad dream.

And i thought having bite marks was worse.

Hanging out with the big boys

Marina @ Keppel Bay

Having been to the Singapore Yacht Club before, i had high expectations of the Marina @ Keppel Bay.

I missed the opening of the bridge and the chance to meet up with the President that day as Old boy fell sick so when Senior decided to move our afternoon tea to the Marina, i took up the offer.

It was one of the Senior’s projects which he was extremely proud of and i could see why.

Small and exclusive, the entrance to the Marina @ Keppel Bay was hidden by the upcoming Reflections @ Keppel Bay project. The bridge linking up to the Marina was beautifully constructed and the whole thing was just aesthetically pleasing.

We took a quick tour of the Marina and the S$5.2 million docks. First ever dock all built in concrete, if i am not mistaken.

And then we went to the management office to meet up with the people who made the Marina happen.

I won’t say much but there are problems with the Marina that they are still trying to fix. Participating in discussions with the deal-makers have taught me the need to be more decisive. Especially with projects that deal with millions of dollars.

Assertiveness has never been easy for me, much less, being in the negotiation stages.

I don’t have the skill sets yet to broker huge deals but with a bit of help here and there, i guess i may get by.

Blog, in four years time, let’s see where i am.

Yawning cat

After a harrowing experience last year to get Hutch into the cage for us to arrange for his vaccination, Mom decided that she wanted another go at it this year.

And with that came bites, scratches and of course, defecating.

Fuck Corey Hart, i’m surrendering.

Housecall vets in future.

The music never stops

HV
Taken from http://www.myman.se

It’s been too long since i last stepped foot onto this place. If i dare say, it’s been about a year.

The people are the same, the music never stops, the life doesn’t die out. Perhaps the next best routine to working, that can be offered on a Thursday and probably, a Saturday night too.

It was good catching up with old buddies like Aberwyn whose only comments that i remember were, “your hair smells nice”, and “you put on weight”, and tigerkiller, that rambunctious blogger, who pointed us out to the new grasshoppers despite our desire to remain anonymous.

Anyhow, we got free drinks as a result so who cares?

Random thoughts

Filed under: Life at its fullest — Sunshin3 @ 12:57 pm

We all have different methods to deal with life’s crankiness.

Unfortunately, my method of working to ignore the crankiness is definitely not working. With the bed and tv unavailable, the living room and bathroom occupied by others, the broken mp3 player sitting on the desk, there’s not much left apart from blogging, for me to expel the negativity.

Such is the lot of life.

In other news, the doctor has determined that it is another fibroadenoma on my left breast (again). Surgery has been scheduled for next Monday but i am still in two minds about it as well, i cannot afford to lose anymore breast tissue and since it is benign and smaller than my previous incidence, is it really necessary to grow through the whole emotional melodrama once more?

And in case you want to know why it always appears on the left breast, Wikipedia answers it all:-

“The tumours are slightly more common on the left breast than on the right, possibly for reasons associated with blood flow or arm and shoulder activity, most people being right handed.”

Can’t say whether it’s the truth but i guess, it does make me feel better some what.
